OSWEGO, NY – Friendly’s Restaurant in Oswego and Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County are hosting a very special Friendly’s family fun night to help make reading as easy as licking an ice cream cone.
On June 23rd, Friendly’s Restaurant will donate 10 percent of all sales from 5-8 p.m. to Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County. Patrick Dewine, General Manager, said that the restaurant is happy to support Literacy Volunteers. “Friendly’s is committed to supporting our community. Hosting a Family Fun Night is a great way to bring community members together in support of a worthwhile cause. It also allows us to give something back to our community by helping our local nonprofit organizations.â€
Jane Murphy, LVOC Executive Director, is looking forward to the event as well. “We are facing some very difficult times. With the economic recession, literacy services are needed by our community now more than ever. We truly appreciate Friendly’s offer to host a Family Fun Night for us. I invite everyone to join us for some great food and to support our efforts to make Oswego County 100 percent literate,†she said.
Ten percent of all proceeds, whether eat-in or take-out, will be donated to Literacy Volunteers. Friendly’s Restaurant is located at 192 W. Bridge St., Oswego and is open Sunday through Wednesday, 7 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Thursday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to midnight.
