PULASKI, NY -Ira Marcks, an author and visual artist originally from Sandy Creek, visited students at Pulaski Middle School to discuss his life as an author, as well as sign students’ books and spend time chatting with them.

Having written graphic novels such as “Shark Summer” and “Spirit Week”, Marcks spoke to students about his experiences and ideas that sparked the creation of these books. He also talked about what life as a writer is like, and gave students advice on how to grow their own interests and passions.

“If you have an idea and you want to do something with it, let there be room for changes in it,” Marcks said to students. “Sometimes those changes will make your idea better. The first version of something may not always be the same as the final version.”
