FULTON, NY—Lynn Bullard, program director for All Saints Episcopal Church’s Tuesday Night Dinners, received the Robert J. Uplinger Award at the club’s April 3 board meeting, it was announced by David Guyer, club president. The club also donated $1,000 to the Tuesday Night Dinners program.
Established in 1993, the Uplinger award honors outstanding Lions, non-Lions and organizations that perform exemplary service to the club, district or community, Guyer said. “We are honoring Lynn for possessing the highest examples of Lionistic character, ideals, purpose and service. She has demonstrated that through her leadership over the past 16 years as the director of the Tuesday Night Meals Program. This is the first time since our club was founded in 1953 that we have presented an Uplinger award to a non-Lion in our community.”
The Tuesday Night Dinners program offers free, take-out dinners to anyone who is in need every Tuesday, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Bullard said that the program has served more than 200 diners on some Tuesdays since it began in 2009.
