“We’ve planned a full day of music and fun to help raise awareness of hunger and poverty in Oswego County,” said Heather Robinson of OCO’s Street Outreach Services. “This will be a fun event for the whole family. There will be raffles for some great prizes throughout the day, food and refreshments will be available from the Fulton Lions Club, and plenty of live music with performances by The Predators, Hell Fish, and Magical Mystery Tour.”

A group of four well-rehearsed musicians, Magical Mystery Tour is a musical tribute to the Beatles.

The group performs a wide range of music spanning the entire career of the Fab Four. Using vintage instruments, adorning period-style attire appropriate to each Beatle’s individual style, and using witty, often sarcastic stage banter, they portray an accurate concert experience for all audiences, young and old.

With each member taking on a specific role as an individual Beatle, the interesting mix of personalities is evident with each song and story.

While there is no charge for the event, those attending are asked to bring a donation of a canned food item or two to help support local food pantries.

“During the event we will be collecting donations of non-perishable foods along with any monetary donations people would like to make. All donations and proceeds raised will be used to benefit food pantries throughout Oswego County including Catholic Charities, the Salvation Army in both Oswego and Fulton and the OCO Youth Emergency Services (YES!) program for runaway and homeless youth,” Robinson said.

In addition to the live music, representatives from the host agencies, which includes; ARISE, Bridges out of Poverty, Catholic Charities of Oswego County, COACH (County of Oswego Advocates Challenging Homelessness), The Council of Churches, Fulton Family YMCA / ACT for Youth – Youth Coalition, Oswego County Opportunities, Inc. Rural and Migrant Ministries, and AmeriCorps, will also be on hand to meet the public, educate them about their efforts to address the issues of hunger and poverty, and encourage the community to become involved in helping to alleviate these problems in Oswego County.
