Oswego’s seniors were denied their moment in the spotlight during the annual “Pageant of Champions.”

This is the event where the seniors are always recognized for their dedication to the music program and especially the Marching Bucs.

However, horrendous weather conditions forced postponement of the salute.

On Oct. 7 it was hoped that the band seniors could be recognized, but once again rain forced another rescheduling of the special event.

This past Wednesday, the seniors including Angelica Alejandro, Kristen Bartholomew, Robert Beach Jr., Alexander Benigno, Matthew Castiglia, Rachel Clark, Samantha Duvall, Elizabeth Feeney, Khristian Fischer, Marian Hill, Corey King, Ashley Kuczawa, Zane Leo, Kathryn Lombardo, Emily Mears, Joel Meeks, Madison Palmer, Mason Rabalais, Adrienne Richards, Amber Scruton, Brian Semione, Breanna Sharkey, Elizabeth Vickery, Chelcee Ward and Nate Westcott finally received their rewards.

A loyal and dedicated following of Marching Bucs’ supporters was on hand and enthusiastically showed their appreciation to Oswego’s seniors.

There isn’t much time to relax as the season is quickly winding down.

Last Saturday night at New Hartford the Bucs earned a season high 84.45 to finish behind West Genesee with a 91.60 and Cicero-North Syracuse with an 87.10 in the National Class.

This Saturday evening the Bucs will be participating in the annual Liverpool High School show which will be held on the Central Square High School artificial turf field.

The program begins at 6:30 with Phoenix and following the Firebirds on to the field will be Auburn, Baldwinsville, Central Square, Cicero-North Syracuse, Oswego and then Liverpool in exhibition.

On Oct. 24 the Marching Bucs will compete in the James Madison University “Parade of Champions” in Harrisonburg, Va., while the season will be completed at the National Class New York State Championship will be held on Nov. 1 under the Carrier Dome on the campus of Syracuse University.
