Michael A. Maroun Elementary School staff members made Valentine’s Day a little sweeter for sick children in Central New York by donating Valentine treat bags to the Center for Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorders at Golisano Children’s Hospital in Syracuse.

For the past two years, MAM staff members have donated 40 goodies bags filled with playing cards, paddle balls, stress balls, Match Box cars, finger nail polish, homemade bookmarks, handmade Valentines, bubbles, bracelets, candy, pads, pencils, pens, crayons and balloons, among other fun items.
MAM guidance counselor Nora Germain said the school continues to receive positive feedback from hospital staff about the donations, which always bring smiles to children’s faces.
