Mayor Bateman Announces Appointment Of Assistant City Attorney

OSWEGO, NY – Mayor Randolph F. Bateman is pleased to announce the appointment of Lou Anne Rucynski Coleman, Esq., as the new assistant city attorney for the city of Oswego.

Attorney Coleman will be assisting City Attorney Gay H. Williams, Esq., in handling the City’s legal matters and providing advice to the mayor, members of the Common Council, and the department heads for the city.

Attorney Coleman was born and raised in Oswego.

She graduated from SUNY Oswego and Syracuse University Law School.

She has been practicing law for 10 years and owns a private practice located at 92 W. Sixth St.

Mayor Bateman noted that the appointment of an assistant city attorney will not result in any additional cost to the city, as the assistant city attorney’s salary will be allocated from a portion of the City Attorney’s salary.

In addition, the positions of both the city attorney and the assistant city attorney are part-time with the city and do not include benefits.
