Mexico Lacrosse Camp Teaches, Reinforces Skills

MEXICO – Mexico High School Varsity Lacrosse players shared their knowledge and love of the game recently with eager children who sought to both learn and enhance their lacrosse skills.

A recent lacrosse camp, held from July 10 to 12 behind Mexico High School, brought several campers together with the varsity players, camp director and varsity coach Dave Passer and camp coordinator and junior varsity coach Kim Halligan.

Campers participated in skill drills and friendly competitions. Reviewed offensive skills included: passing, catching, cradling, ground balls, footwork and shooting.

Defensive skills reviewed included: arm position, stick position, footwork, slides and mirroring. Transition skills learned included: rides, groundballs, draws and doubling.

Each day began with stretching and conditioning.

Campers were able to showcase their increased lacrosse talent with their parents during the camp’s culmination activity of the parent/camper shooting contest.

Each camper also received a T-shirt.
