On Tuesday, Oct. 7, SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations (OBCR) and the Women’s Network for Entrepreneurial Training will gather women from across Central New York for “Connections,” a day-long conference to be held in the newly renovated Sheldon Hall ballroom on the SUNY Oswego campus from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

This year’s event is once again scheduled to have speakers that will energize and inspire women, including 1993 SUNY Oswego Alumni Jill Consor Beck.  Consor Beck is currently the senior product manager for Microsoft, and is also co-leading a new entrepreneurial venture focused on producing a luxury brand of wine under the name of Purple Teeth Cellars, LLC.

Consor Beck is known for her “get it done” approach that has enabled her to work and lead teams in places such as New York, London, Luxembourg, Hong Kong, San Francisco and Seattle.

“We’re very excited about having Jill speak at ‘Connections’ this year,” said Nancy Bellow, OBCR executive director.  “She brings with her enthusiasm and experience that I think our attendees will enjoy and be inspired by.”

“Connections” is designed to bring women of all ages and backgrounds together to explore their place and power within their professions. The theme for this year’s event is “Vision, Change and Growth” and will feature several dynamic speakers, networking opportunities, a dessert reception and a “Women’s Marketplace” where vendors promoting products and services for women will be showcased.

Other speakers for the event include Robert Feinberg national director of mergers and acquisition tax services at Ernst & Young, Rosemary Crane, retired chairman and executive vice president for Johnson & Johnson and Melina Carnicelli, local entrepreneur.

Major sponsors for “Connections” include OBCR, WNET, Operation Oswego County, Alliance Bank, Women Ties, Women Business Owners Connection and WSEN/WFBL Radio.
