Oswego, NY – Step One Creative, an Oswego-based marketing communications firm, has announced that David Miele, of Cornwall, New York, has joined the agency as a spring semester public relations intern, according to President Shane R. Stepien.
Miele, a junior year economics major at SUNY Oswego, will assist Step One with various event related projects, as well as ongoing public relations initiatives.
“With his writing and public relations skills we’re excited to have David join us as an intern at Step One,” said Stepien. “We look forward to having him assist us on a variety of new projects throughout the spring, and helping him build his potential within the profession.”
In addition to his internship at Step One Creative, Miele is the Public Relations Student Supervisor for SUNY Oswego’s Campus Recreation Department, where he helps manage all public relations initiatives.
“Step One Creative has presented me with a fantastic opportunity to gain real world experience in the fields of public relations and marketing,” said Miele. “Applying the theories and practices that I have learned in my classes to work-related scenarios will be a great way to build a foundation for my future career in marketing.”
Having developed an interest in advertising and marketing during high school, Miele now aspires to enter the field of product marketing upon graduation.
“Marketing requires both business savvy and creativity,” said Miele. “That is what drew me into the field.”
