Each year students, families, teachers and staff come together just days before Halloween to enjoy an evening of reading and seasonal food and drink.

Principal Dean Goewey said read several books in a cafeteria that was jammed to the walls with students and families.

He said, “This is the first year I’ve been involved in this and it is a tremendous program. Reading or being read to is important. This has been a great night for the Minetto family and it is fun being a part of this special event.”

Goewey read several books and then the students scattered to all points of the building as several teachers, all dressed in the mood for the season, read a variety of books.

Cheryl Beck was surrounded by fourth through sixth graders for “The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon.”

While Leeanne VanDurme was joined by Karen Pooler has several younger students gathered for “Boo & Room with a Broom.”

Joann Syrell, dressed as a witch, had the lights dimmed and the room decorated on the Halloween theme as she read “Tailypo.”

“Cinderhazel” was the theme for Katie Palange while Heather Lynch had her room packed for “The Big Pumpkin Hoodwinked and Doreen Bednarski shared “Stories to Make You Shriek.”

After reading was completed the Minetto Home and School Association hosted the party with cider, donuts, cookies and other Halloween goodies. missing or outdated ad config
