More Buses Added for ‘Balloons Under the Moon’ Transportation

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Department of Mobility Management announces that Golden Sun buses will be joining in providing free park n’ ride transportation to “Balloons Under the Moon” on Wednesday, Aug. 19.

“Due to the anticipated high attendance at ‘Balloons Under the Moon,’ the Town of Granby recently approved funding for eight Golden Sun school buses to provide free transportation to the public,” said Oswego County Director of Mobility Management Heather Snow. “This is in addition to our four Oswego County Public Transit (OPT) buses, bringing the total to 12 buses serving the event.

It’s important to note that our OPT buses are the only fully accessible buses available, so wheelchair users and those with physical disabilities should be sure to utilize OPT buses when traveling to the event,” Snow added.

There are four park n’ ride shuttle locations for the event. One OPT bus and two Golden Sun buses will be at each location. Shuttle stops will be clearly marked with sandwich board signs.

Shuttle stops are as follows:

• Granby Walmart, 1818 NYS Rte. 3, Fulton
• Granby Town Hall, 1909 NYS Rte. 3, Fulton
• Granby Elementary School, 400 W. Seventh St. N., Fulton
• Ray Bodley High School, 6 William Gillard Drive, Fulton

Buses will make continuous loops between the shuttle stops and the event location, Don Butler Soccer Fields in Granby. Shuttles will run from 5 to 9 p.m.
