WATERLOO, N.Y. — Mozaic has received $18,732 in grants from the Trustee Management Board of NYSARC Trust Services to support its recreation programs, the nonprofit announced in a news release.
Mozaic, formerly the Arc of Oswego and Oswego Industries and a chapter of The Arc New York, supports more than 500 people across Oswego County and 2,000 people in total across the Finger Lakes region.
The organization plans to use the recreation grant funds for new opportunities that encourage community participation, social connection and meaningful experiences, helping the people it supports stay active and engaged in their communities.
NYSARC Trust Services administers supplemental needs trusts and pooled trusts that help people with disabilities maintain financial eligibility for Medicaid and other means-tested government benefit programs. For 2026, NYSARC Trust Services is awarding a total of $2.7 million to The Arc New York chapters statewide, according to the release.
Mozaic supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and other barriers in achieving greater independence, opportunity and inclusion. Its programs and services include day and community-based supports, employment services, clinical services, respite and other supports designed to meet the needs and goals of the people and families it serves.
The Arc New York is described in the release as the state’s largest provider of supports and services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Its 35 local chapters collectively support more than 60,000 people with disabilities and their families in every county of the state and employ more than 30,000 people. Its mission is to provide people with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities the ordinary and extraordinary opportunities of life.
Founded by families more than 75 years ago, The Arc New York advocates for the rights, opportunities and inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
