Music Camp is a week long camp from 5:30-8:30 each evening for children ages 4-12. It is being held at the West Baptist Church in Oswego, on the corners of West 3rd and West Mohawk St. Each night the children will visit different stations throughout the church where they will be able to learn hand bells, chimes, rhythm instruments, recorder, and choral works. Each station will be geared for the ages attending and throughout the week the children will learn pieces of music that they will present on Friday evening during a performance for friends and family. Each night children will also have a game or craft time and a snack time.
New this year we will be featuring an ‘instrument petting zoo’ every night. It will be a time when children will be able to touch, try and hear instruments from all different instrument families. It will provide an opportunity for children to ask questions and learn about the instruments in a safe but hands-on way.
Parents are not required to stay with there children during this camp but we will have a refreshment area set up for any parents who would like to stay and join in some of the experience. We welcome all children between the ages of 4-12 and will do our best to accommodate any allergies, limitations, and/or disabilities. The cost is completely free. We will have t-shirts available for $10 if you are interested but there is no obligation. Pre-registration is welcomed and encouraged but it is not required! To pre-register via phone, call Tracy or Abel at: (315)-598-8800.
Last year was our first year doing music camp and it was a huge success. We look forward to doing it again this year and we truly hope to see you there. Come share the music in you!
