Nearly 100 backpacks donated to Stuff-a-Bus effort

Jackie Gregg (right), Red Kettle chairman for Lacona-Sandy Creek and Salvation Army welfare secretary and Brandie Norton, fifth grade teacher and Stuff-a-Bus coordinator for the Sandy Creek Teachers Association help ensure students have what they need when school starts this fall.

Gregg is delivering backpacks to use in the Stuff-a-Bus giveaway this fall.

Each year a portion of the money raised goes to the kettle drive at Christmas to purchase backpacks and school supplies.

This year 98 backpacks were purchased for the district.
