NRG Supports Catholic Charities

OSWEGO, NY – The Emergency Services Program at Catholic Charities of Oswego County recently received some much needed support from NRG Energy.

Representatives of NRG’s Charitable Giving Committee presented the agency with a food donation and a check in support of the agency’s annual holiday food basket distribution as well as an assortment of gifts for Catholic Charities’ Let’s Give For A Kid program.  Each year, thanks in part to generous donations from caring and concerned businesses, organizations and individuals, the Emergency Services Program at Catholic Charities of Oswego County distributes hundreds of Christmas food baskets and gifts to families in need.

NRG Plant Manager, Bob Marko, was happy to be able to support such a worthwhile program.  “We’re pleased to help those in need locally through the work of Catholic Charities of Oswego County. The safety net it provides helps strengthen families and bring hope for a brighter future,” he said.

“We truly appreciate the generosity of NRG and their employees,” said Helen Hoefer, Director of the Emergency Services Program at Catholic Charities of Oswego County.  “We received requests from more families than ever this year.  The thoughtfulness of businesses such as NRG is greatly appreciated as it allows us to continue our mission of helping families in need.”
