OCO’s Meals On Wheels Program Visits Camp Hollis

FULTON, NY – Seniors participating in the Senior Camping experience at Camp Hollis will still be able to enjoy their daily meals from the Oswego County Opportunities’ Senior Nutrition Meals on Wheels program.

Open to all Oswego County seniors, 50 and over, the Senior Camping experience will be held Sept. 12 and 13 at Camp Hollis. The Senior Camping experience at Camp Hollis provides seniors with several options to choose from:

A daytime experience from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. is available on Sept. 12 and 13.  Seniors may choose one day ($10) or both days ($20).

A full day experience from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on  Sept. 12. Includes an evening dinner and bonfire. ($12.50)

An overnight experience from 9 a.m.  Sept. 12 until 4 p.m. Sept. 13. Includes an evening dinner and bonfire. ($20)

Lunches will be provided both days through OCO’s Senior Nutrition Services Meals on Wheels program.

“We are excited to be bringing our Meals on Wheels program to seniors camping at Camp Hollis,” said Christine Parks, support services manager and volunteer coordinator with OCO’s Senior Nutrition Services. “Thanks to our partnership with Senior Camping, participating seniors will still be able to enjoy a nutritious lunch during their outing to Camp Hollis.”

Those participating in the Senior Camping experience at Camp Hollis will stay in cabins with electricity, flush toilets and hot and cold running water. Participants will provide their own bedding.

The theme for the Senior Camping experience is “Sounds of Music.”  Parks added that there will be plenty of entertainment, a bonfire on Monday night and food and snacks will be provided.

As space is limited those interested are encouraged to make their reservations no later than Sept. 1. Registration forms are available at any of the following OCO Dining & Activity Centers:
