OSWEGO, NY – In recognition of National Mammography Day, Oct. 15, In Vogue Salon & Spa, 62 W. Bridge St., will host a very special event.
From 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. representatives from the Cancer Services Program Partnership of Oswego County will be on hand to distribute information on and schedule free cancer screenings for eligible women and men.
There will also be free snacks and refreshments.
“We are happy to welcome In Vogue as a partner in are efforts to raise the awareness of breast cancer and the free cancer screenings that are available through the Cancer Services Program Partnership of Oswego County,” said CSPP Coordinator Carolyn Handville of Oswego County Opportunities. “We will be giving away long sleeved pink shirts to the first 15 people that stop in to inquire about our services and entering everyone that inquires in a drawing to win a $100 gift card to Wal-Mart and Price Chopper. The drawing will be held Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. at the Fulton Price Chopper parking lot. Participants must be present to win.”
Handville is asking community members to wear pink and join her at the Fulton Price Chopper on Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. to form a human pink ribbon in the parking lot.
In addition to celebrating National Mammography Day, In Vogue is recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness with their Pink Hair for Hope program.
Throughout October, for a $10 donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, stylists at In Vogue will insert a pink hair extension.
