FULTON – When Allison Griffin, Program Manager with OCO Nutrition Services was looking for a site to host the Summer Food Service Program she was warmly welcomed and found the perfect location…the Fulton Recreation Center at the War Memorial.

“When Allison reached out to me, I was happy to lend my support for the program,” said Mayor Rice. “I immediately met with Board President for Fulton Community Basketball Sean Broderick and Parks and Rec Department Director Chris Waldron to see how we could get this off the ground. We are supporting it 100%. Allison cracked the door and I’m glad that I was able to open it for her.”

“When I learned about the Summer Food Service Program I was elated,” said Broderick. “The opportunity for kids in our community to receive free nutritious breakfasts and lunches is a real difference maker for our program. Kids come to the rec center for more than just basketball. Some are here for other activities or to just spend time with their friends.”

Thanks to the collaboration with Mayor Rice, Waldron, and Broderick OCO’s Summer Food Service Program is serving breakfasts and lunches through August 30th.

“Having OCO’s Summer Food Service Program here at the Rec Center is a perfect fit for us, said Waldron. “Sean and I had talked about providing meals here. With Fulton Community Basketball providing the staffing, the City of Fulton providing the facility for kids to have a place to enjoy breakfast and lunch, and OCO providing the food we are now able to do so.”

OCO’s Summer Food Service Program Nutrition Services will be providing food to all children without charge regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability, five days a week at the Fulton War Memorial, 609 W Broadway.
