FULTON NY – Senior director of Oswego County Opportunities’ Health and Nutrition Department, Ellen Holst announced that Farzana Chaudhary, MD, has joined the medical staff at OCO’s Fulton Health Center.

Dr. Chaudhary brings with her 40 years of medical experience, 15 years as an administrator and 25 as a pediatrician.

Her extraordinary care and compassion for her patients is evident as she explains why she chose to become a pediatrician.

“I love kids. I can’t live without them. Being a pediatrician is not a profession, for me it is a passion. I think of all my patients as my children,” said Dr. Chaudhary.

Prior to joining the staff at OCO’s Fulton Health Center, Dr. Chaudhary practiced at Chestnut Ridge Health Center in Baldwinsville and the Central Square Health Center.

She is happy to be a part of the medical staff at Fulton Health Center and have the opportunity to continue to serve her past patients.

“OCO was kind enough to offer my patients and I a home. I became familiar with OCO’s Fulton Health Center while I was at the Central Square Health Center. When the Fulton Health Center was short handed I would come and see patients on my day off. Since OCO served a similar patient base, I was happy to join them and be able to offer my patients the choice to follow me. I served over 2,000 patients at the Central Square Health Center and it is very satisfying to know that some of my patients are second generation. I love what I do. I would never do anything else,” said Dr. Chaudhary.

While she has only been at the Fulton Health Center a few months, Dr. Chaudhary is impressed with both the medical staff and the administration.

“The medical staff is very nice and work together as a team to better serve our patients, and the administrative staff has made me feel very welcome. I truly enjoy working with the population the center serves and it is a nice atmosphere to work in,” she said.

With health centers in Fulton and Oswego, OCO plays a major role as a healthcare provider for those who live in Oswego County.

“Our health centers are staffed with medical professionals who provide our patients with a high quality of care. They truly care about the population they serve. I am happy to welcome Dr. Chaudhary to our medical staff and am confident that our patients will be pleased with the care she provides,” said Holst.

OCO’s Health Centers offer a full range of primary care services for the whole family, including women’s health.

OCO’s Fulton Health Center also offers specialty services such as colposcopies, which test for cervical cancer, and endometrial biopsies, which test for uterine cancer.
