An Introduction to Youth Community Boating sponsored by a grant from NRG Energy is being offered July 25-26, from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m.
This class is taught by an experienced instructor certified by the U. S. Sailing Association and is a community service available to youth ages 9-17 throughout Central New York.
It is a five-hour, two-day course focused on boating and personal water safety and serves to help students determine if they are interested in pursuing additional instruction.
Students are introduced to sailing fundamentals, safe boat handling, and basic water survival. There is a $10.00 commitment fee, refundable upon completion of the course or applicable toward additional classes.
The Oswego Maritime Foundation began this program in 1985. For more information about this class or other youth or adult sailing classes call the OMF office at 342-5753.
