OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego Middle School Combined Seventh and Eighth Grade Chorus competed at the Darien Lake Music Competition in another award-winning performance.

For the second consecutive year, the chorus took home first place in its division, beating out seven other middle school choirs with a score of 98.5 out of a possible 100 points.

Director Paul Brewster said, “Not only was this score first place in its division, but it was the third highest score at the entire festival that included over 60 middle and high school choruses, orchestras and bands.”

The Oswego Middle School chorus is a large and talented group of more than 120 singers.

They performed a diverse selection of pieces including “A Festive Gloria,” James Taylor’s “Fire and Rain” and the American Folk Song “Old Joe Clark.”

The judges commented on the group’s musicality, focus and professionalism.
