Orientation Meeting on Foster Parenting and Adoption Scheduled for December 1

MEXICO – The Oswego County Department of Social Services will host an orientation meeting for people interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents on Wednesday, December 1, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Oswego County Department of Social Services, 100 Spring Street, Mexico.

This informational meeting is a pre-requisite for the 10-session certification training program for foster or adoptive parents.

Foster families are needed for children who range in age from birth to 21. Children awaiting adoption typically range from eight years of age and older, and have special needs. Single and two-parent families may apply to become foster or adoptive parents. In a two-parent household, both parents must attend the training program.
