OSWEGO, NY, Jan. 30, 2025 — Oswego Bookmobile is highlighting a year of community collaboration and increased impact. The generosity of local donors made 2024 a year of growth and allowed 1,554 children to choose books that made reading more enjoyable for them. The support has allowed Oswego Bookmobile to reach more children than 2023 as well as acquiring a new bus to start running in 2025.

“‘Driving Books Home ~ Oswego Bookmobile’ is very grateful for the generosity of our donors for enabling us to continue to provide free books and STEAM activities to young readers in the Oswego community,” said Susan McBrearty, president of Oswego Bookmobile.

The following donors played a crucial role in funding summer programming and vital maintenance for the Bookmobile’s last season before a new vehicle launches in 2025:
Jon Ben Snow Foundation, $4,500
James and Juli Boeheim Foundation, $2,000
Oswego County Federal Credit Union, $1,000
Journey of Faith United Methodist Church, $900
Mears Family Dentistry, $250

The contributions of local businesses, organizations and foundations made the 2024 summer program possible and kept its beloved bookmobile on the road in its final year of operation. With community support, Oswego Bookmobile is equipped for the new year and ready to continue fostering literacy and learning in the community.
