OSWEGO – The Oswego Bookmobile recently completed its seventh successful season.
The season ran for seven weeks, visiting 17 sites weekly as well as appearances at farmers’ markets, movie nights in the park and Harborfest.
We were able to provide a free book to each child who visited the Bookmobile due in part to the generous grant of $800 from the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau Mini- Grant, which enabled us to shop locally at river’s end bookstore.
The bookmobile staff purchased an exciting supply of new titles and old favorites chosen by students during our eight-school visits in June.
Although the bookmobile is now in storage, the Oswego Bookmobile Committee is busy planning for its eighth season based on the NYS Library Theme “ Libraries Rock!”
The bookmobile is looking forward to welcoming back old friends and new ones.
The Oswego Bookmobile Committee wishes to express its appreciation to the OCCYB and all those responsible for the funding, those who assisted with this project and those who continue to support the cause of literacy in our community through the Oswego Bookmobile.
