Oswego Bookmobile to Host Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for New Bus

OSWEGO – The Oswego Bookmobile is inviting the public to a ribbon-cutting ceremony to experience the new bookmobile bus and celebrate the community that made this achievement possible. The ceremony will take place Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. at Breitbeck Park, 91 Lake St., Oswego, New York.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to tour the new bookmobile, which will be set up to show its layout for the upcoming summer program, including a dedicated outside teen area featured for the first time. Guests can also enjoy light refreshments, book giveaways and STEAM activities for kids.

“This new bus is a result of the generosity and belief our donors have in the Oswego Bookmobile,” said Oswego Bookmobile President Susan McBrearty. “We are deeply grateful for their investment into our mission and the future of our community.”

The Oswego Bookmobile board will recognize the donors who made the new bus possible, including the Tarandi Foundation, the Richard S. Shineman Foundation, Oswego County, the Oswego Lions Club, the John Ben Snow Foundation, Novelis, the Oswego County Federal Credit Union and the City of Oswego.
