OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego City Band will be performing an exciting concert of Songs and Thunder on Wednesday at Breitbeck Park at 7 p.m., according to Trevor Jorgensen, concert band conductor.
The performance will feature the iconic marches The Thunderer and Rolling Thunder by Sousa and Fillmore.
Beautiful lyrical expressions comprised of Ticheli’s Cajun Folk Songs, the musical styling’s of Sinatra in Concert, British master composer Ralph Vaughn Williams’ Sea Songs and an enticing arrangement by Robert Russell Bennet of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Selections from the Sound of Music will also highlight the performance.
Other classic concert band favorites include Holst’s First Suite in Eb, Arnold’s Prelude, Siciliano and Rondo, and Prokofiev’s March Op. 99.
The concerts are sponsored by the City of Oswego, with additional funding provided by the Music Performance Trust Fund and Oswego County Musicians Union, Local 267-441.
