OSWEGO, NY – In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, members of the Oswego Fire Department Firefighters IAFF Local #126 designed and sold commemorative pink Oswego Fire Department T-shirts throughout the month of October.

The sale raised $600 in support of Oswego County Opportunities’ Cancer Services Program of the North Country.
“I’m grateful that the Oswego City Fire Department and IAFF Local #126 recognize the work of our program and our efforts to raise awareness of the importance of regular breast cancer screenings” said Program Coordinator Carolyn Handville.
The Cancer Services Program of the North Country provides free cancer screenings including clinical breast exams, mammograms, pap/pelvic exams and colorectal cancer screenings to community members who are uninsured and between 40 and 64 years of age.
For more information, contact Handville at 315-592-0830 or visit OCO’s website at www.oco.org.
