Oswego City School District Shows Support for Coville Event

They gathered recently in support of the Library’s 3rd Annual Author Night Fundraiser planned for this Saturday, November 14th at 6 p.m. at the American Foundry in Oswego.

Award-winning Central New York Author Bruce Coville will be the event’s guest speaker.

The school district administration has had representation on the Author Night Event Committee, and there are a number of students attending the event through the support of local corporations, who worked with the Oswego Public Library to purchase tickets for the area students.

Tickets to the 3rd Annual Author Night are available for a contribution of $50 for an adult dinner and grand raffle; $33 for a youth dinner (aged 17 years and under) and grand raffle (name on ticket must be age 18 and over); and $25 for admission to the event and grand raffle only (age 18 and older).

A native of Central New York, Coville is known for works including: “The Foolish Giant,” the “Unicorn Chronicles series, “My Teacher is an Alien,” and the recent “Moongobble” series. Coville lives and works in Central New York.

He has won several awards for his work over the years including the California Young Reader Medal, Jennifer Murdley’s Toad Giverny Award, The Prince of Butterflies Knickerbocker Award for Juvenile Literature, and others.

Tickets are limited so please call today. For more information about the event and/or to purchase tickets prior to the event please call the Oswego Public Library at (315) 341-5867. Tickets are also available for purchase at the river’s end bookstore (342-0077). People that purchase tickets at the door will have admission to the event and grand raffle only. Dinner will not be available.
