Oswego Community Christian School Fourth Annual Auction Set April 30

OSWEGO, NY – Plans are under way for one of the area’s premier fundraising events, the Oswego Christian Community School’s fourth Annual Auction.

Scheduled for April 30, the event will be held from 1 – 4:30 p.m. at the Oswego Armory, West First Street.

The event, which serves as the school’s largest fundraiser, will feature both a silent auction and a live auction.

According to planning committee coordinator Sue Bakos, this year’s auction promises to be better than ever.

“Over the years, our annual auction has received some wonderful support from the community, making the event more and more popular each year. We are excited about this year’s event and are looking forward to an afternoon of fun,” she said.

Bakos added that the committee has been busy contacting area business and gathering items for the auctions.

“We are fortunate to have received a number of excellent items already from caring businesses and individuals. We anticipate having a wide array of items for our auction,” she said.

Some of the many items that will be available include: a gas grill with accessories, iPod Shuffle, hotel accommodations, gift baskets massages, beauty products household items, tools, sports memorabilia, tickets to area attractions, savings bonds, restaurant and retail gift certificates, handmade items, artwork, blue tooth, door prizes and much more.

The silent auction that will take place from 1 – 2:30 p.m. followed by a live auction, featuring auctioneer Jim Deacons of Crossroads Auction Center in Central Square, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.

The event will also include the Oswego Community Christian School’s annual prize drawing.

For a donation of only $10 individuals will have the opportunity to win one of three great prizes including a grand prize of either a five-night / six-day Disney vacation for a family of four or the choice of a $1,000 gift card, winner’s choice; a second prize of an Apple iPad; and a third prize of either a $250 gas or grocery card, winner’s choice.

In addition to items from local merchants, students of the Oswego Community Christian School will also be participating, as each class is busy preparing themed baskets filled with an assortment of goodies pertaining to its theme.

“We will have items that will appeal to people of all ages, and there will be food and refreshments available for purchase throughout the event,” said Bakos.

All proceeds from this event will be used for the continued improvement of the quality of education offered to the students at OCCS.

Established in 1979, the Oswego Community Christian School offers families a Christian educational alternative that excels in teaching, training and the spiritual development of their children.
