OSWEGO, NY – Golfers in this year’s United Way Golf Classic will have the opportunity to enjoy one of Central New York’s finest golf courses, the Oswego County Club.
On July 14, Oswego County Club will once again host the United Way Golf Classic.
In addition to hosting the event, Oswego County Club has donated a golf package of four rounds of golf with carts and club golf professional Jon Fowler has donated a one-hour golf lesson as prizes for the United Way’s silent auction and assistant golf professional Will Weimer will host a “Beat the Pro” challenge.
“We’re pleased to be working with the Oswego County Club, said Lois Luber, resource development director for the United Way. “This is the third year that the Oswego Country Club has hosted our golf tournament. Our participants enjoy the opportunity to golf at the country club and appreciate the professionalism and courtesy they receive from both Jon Fowler and the pro shop staff and Chris Carpenter and the food service staff.”
“The environment and the staff at the Oswego Country Club have helped to make the United Way Golf Classic one of Central New York’s premier golf tournaments. As a result the Golf Classic, which is our biggest fundraising event, has risen to new levels of success. With every dollar of our Golf Classic being used to support human services programs in Oswego County the event has a tremendous impact on the lives of the many families and individuals that rely on these services,” Luber continued.
Luber added that there are no morning flights available.
However, there are a very limited number of openings for foursomes in the afternoon flight that tees off at 2 p.m.
