Oswego Country Club to host United Way Golf Classic

Oswego, NY – Golfers in this year’s United Way Golf Classic will have the opportunity to enjoy one of Central New York’s finest golf courses, the Oswego County Club.

On July 15, Oswego County Club will once again host the United Way Golf Classic.

In addition to hosting the event, Oswego County Club has donated a golf package of four rounds of golf with carts and club golf professional Jon Fowler has donated a one-hour golf lesson for the United Way’s silent auction and assistant golf professional Will Weimer will host a “Beat the Pro” challenge.

To accommodate one of the area’s largest golf tournaments, which boasts a field of up to 50 teams, there will be two flights of golf, an 8 a.m. tee off and a 2 p.m. tee off.

The United Way of Greater Oswego County Golf Classic is a captain and crew format with teams of four golfers.

A team registration of $600 includes: golf with carts for four people, a steak lunch or dinner, beverages, golf shirt, and an opportunity to win an automobile at the hole-in-one contest sponsored by Burritt Motors of Oswego.

There will also on course games including a putting contest, skins competition, prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin.

According to Lois Luber, resource development director for the United Way, there are currently openings for foursomes in both flights with the morning flight filling up quickly.
