Oswego County Energy Recovery Facility Re-Opens

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Solid Waste Department announced that the county Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) re-opened in last month, following an extended maintenance outage.

“We’re grateful for residents’ patience as we continue to work through various improvement plans scheduled at solid waste locations around the county,” said Oswego County Legislator Stephen M. Walpole, District 14, chairman of the Legislature’s Infrastructure, Facilities and Technology Committee. “During this maintenance outage, we were able to complete several projects at the ERF, including extensive concrete work in the dump floor area.”

The facility is now receiving packer trucks and some delivery of municipal solid waste. Construction and debris materials will continue to be sent to the Bristol Hill Transfer Station, 3125 NYS Rte. 3 in Fulton.

In other project updates, the department continues to work on getting a new scale installed at the Bristol Hill facility.
