| OSWEGO – Students from several local homeschool groups plan to perform an old-fashioned Christmas Nativity Pageant this year- and the community is warmly invited to attend.
Students from Oswego County LEAH, James Madison Academy and Educating Arrows began rehearsals and set design over a month ago. They are in the final stages of preparation for this weekend’s performances. “Our area has lots of wonderful holiday events – parades and festivals and tree lightings – but we wanted to make sure the most important Christmas story was included in our community’s celebrations,” Pageant Director Stephanie Ryder said. Co-director Brooke Demott echoes the sentiment. “As a member of the Oswego homeschooling community for over 13 years, I am thrilled to begin this new annual tradition with our children!” The performances will include a traditional retelling of Christ’s birth, and many classic Christmas carols sung by our student choirs. The 40 performers range in age from 3 to 14. “I’m really impressed with the progress we have made with such a big age range; the kids should be very proud!”, Music Director Stacia Demott said. Community members are welcome to attend either of the two free performances. The first will be held on Saturday, December 10 at 3 p.m. at Fulton Alliance Church, and the second will be held on Sunday, December 11 at 12 p.m. at Oswego Church of Christ |
