OSWEGO – The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety Committee presented a proclamation to the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office recognizing May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and May 11 through 17 as National Police Week. Peace Officers Memorial Day honors all law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and service, while National Police Week highlights the important role that law enforcement officers play in safeguarding the rights and freedoms of all citizens while keeping communities safe.
