Oswego County Seeks Veteran of the Year Nominations by October 31

OSWEGO COUNTY – The Oswego County Veterans’ Services Agency (VSA) announces that it is looking for nominations for its Veteran of the Year recognition by Saturday, Oct. 31, 2026.

“We’re excited to announce the return of our Veteran of the Year award,” said Oswego County VSA Director Eric Boozer. “This initiative provides a meaningful opportunity to honor the men and women who have served our country and continue to make a lasting impact in our communities.

“We’re looking for nominations for veterans who have demonstrated exemplary military service as well as outstanding community involvement and a commitment to supporting other veterans,” he added. “If this sounds like a veteran you know, we encourage you to fill out a nomination form and send it in to us.”

Active-duty members and veterans with an honorable discharge from any of the six military branches, including Reserves or National Guard, are eligible to be nominated. The veteran must be a resident of Oswego County.

Visit the Oswego County Veteran of the Year nomination page to complete the nomination form online or download a hard copy for submission. Once completed, send it to the VSA in person at 200 N. Second St. in Fulton, by email to [email protected] or by fax at 315-591-9103.

Following review of submissions, the Veteran of the Year will be named in November.
