OSWEGO COUNTY – Oswego County Workforce New York (OCWNY) hosted its annual Fall Job Fair on Sept. 23, bringing more than 30 local employers and training providers together with 90 job seekers eager to explore career and training opportunities.
“We were excited to offer this opportunity for local employers and job seekers to connect in person and discuss the skills and experience businesses need and people can bring to them,” said Rachel Pierce, director of the Oswego County Department of Workforce Development.
Employers and business partners all praised the event’s impact. Shauna Nesbitt, admissions representative at Cayuga Community College, said, “This latest fair was well put together and very well attended.”
Stephanie Wallace, talent acquisition supervisor with United Auto Supply in Syracuse, N.Y., added, “I had a wonderful experience at Oswego County Workforce New York’s Fall Job Fair. Their team is always well-organized and ready to assist businesses and prospective employees, and they have proved to be an important resource for our recruiting needs at United Auto Supply. The event itself was a testament to their commitment and dedication to the community, and I look forward to collaborating with them again in the future.”
OCWNY provides a wide range of free business services to support local hiring, including job postings, monthly mini job fairs, and training funds for new and incumbent workers.
