Oswego, NY – The Oswego Firefighters Association #2707 recently teamed up with the Oswego Wal-Mart to support this past weekend’s US Marine Corps Toys for Tots Day of Sharing Benefit at the Quality Inn & Suites Riverfront in Oswego.
Members of the Oswego Firefighters Association #2707 donated $1,400 towards the purchase of toys at the Oswego Wal-Mart to benefit this year’s program. Wal-Mart then added their own monetary contribution to Toys for Tots.
The Day of Sharing Benefit attracted hundreds of area children and families, and helped gather over 600 donated toys for the toy drive. Santa was available for photos, crafts and snacks were available for the children, and area musicians donated their time and talents for the event.

“We greatly appreciate the support of the Oswego Firefighter’s Association #2707 and the Oswego Wal-Mart, said local Toys for Tots Coordinator Chris Jones. “The support from this community for the holiday toy drive has been tremendous, and we are very grateful for the outreach.”
The mission of the program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community. This year’s toy drive will run through Friday, December 16th, according to Jones.
