OSWEGO – Oswego Health honored its physicians during a Doctor’s Day dinner held at the Oswego Country Club on March 23.
Oswego Health President and CEO Michael Harlovic welcomed the more than 50 physicians and their guests to the dinner and thanked them for the dedication to providing the community with exceptional local healthcare.
During the event, the health system presented several awards including a lifetime of service award to Michael Nupuf, MD, who will celebrate his 38th year of providing medical care locally in November.
He currently serves as the medical director for Farnham Family Services.
The community service award was given to Scott Van Gorder, DO, who provides care at Northern Oswego County Health Services Inc., in Oswego. Dr. Van Gorder has been practicing locally since 2000.
Oswego Health also recognized physicians with 25 years or more of service, with most of the physicians on hand to accept their plaque.
Among those who were recognized were Zaeem Ansari, MD, 30 years; Karl Hafner, MD, 34 years; Young Kim, MD, 35 years; Soo Kim, MD, 34 years; Robert Morgan, MD, 31 years; Suresh Patil, MD, 36 years; Corliss Varnum, MD, 31 years.
Also honored were Carlos Dator, MD, 26 years; Nancy Dean-Grosack, DPM, 28 years; Douglas Dickson, DPM, 26 years; Patsy Iannolo, MD, 27 years; Renato Mandanas, MD, 27 years and Suryakant Patel, MD, 29 years.
Oswego Health recognizes its physicians each year on Doctor’s Day, which is traditionally March 30.
This date marks the first time that that anesthesia was used in surgery.
