In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, OCO has partnered with Oswego Hospital, Fulton Medical Imaging, and the Pulaski Health Center to make it even easier to receive breast and other cancer screenings during October.

The CSPP is funded by the NYS Department of Health and Susan G Komen for the Cure.

“We are pleased to be working with the Pulaski Health Center and offering an even greater opportunity for women to learn about their risk and get screened for breast cancer,” said Carolyn Handville, coordinator of OCO’s Cancer Services Program Partnership of Oswego County. “All women 40 and over should have an annual mammogram and clinical breast exam. A mammogram along with a clinical breast exam is an effective tool to detect breast cancer in its early stage and has been successful in reducing overall cancer and mortality.”

Handville said that Oswego Hospital staff would be at the Pulaski Health Center, 61 Delano St., offering free mammograms and clinical breast exams as well as pap smears and pelvic exams to women with limited or no health insurance by appointment only on Oct. 16 from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.
