FULTON – The week of September 8th, 2024, has been designated by the U.S. Senate as “National Direct Support Professionals Recognition Week.” Please join us in celebrating Direct Support Professionals during the federal and state-designated DSP Recognition Week, September 8th-September 14th. Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) are essential in ensuring people with developmental disabilities live a fully productive life of their choosing.
This week has been created so that we can recognize these dedicated workers who, through building close and trusted relationships with the people they support, help them realize their goals and dreams.
Oswego Industries/Arc of Oswego DSPs are the backbone of our company. Their daily work is unlike any other. They are not just caregivers; they are life changers. They assist individuals with various daily activities, such as eating, administering medication, hygiene, and communication skills, all while supporting a person-centered approach, ensuring their activities are geared towards their interests.
Please take the time to thank a DSP for their dedication and service to the people with developmental disabilities who live in our communities.
“Every life holds value, regardless of location, age, gender or disability. There is a plan and a purpose for everyone” – Sharron Angle
