Oswego Industries, Inc. To Hold 5th Annual Golf Open

WHAT: The date has been set for the 5th Annual Oswego Industries Golf Open fundraiser. This year’s Golf Open will be held at Battle Island Golf Course in Fulton. Many sponsorship opportunities are still available; and those interested in playing can register any time before June 18. Registration fees include 18 holes with a cart, lunch, T-shirt, tee prizes, and more. Also included in the Golf Open is the nonprofit’s signature “Disability Hole,” at which players simulate having a disability. Past years have required players to tee off from a wheelchair, or with one arm immobilized, or while wearing vision-distorting glasses and sound-canceling headphones.

Oswego Industries, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit Community Rehabilitation Program which has been providing programs and services to adults with disabilities since 1968. Its mission is to be a partner in the development of comprehensive community services designed to improve the quality of life for all people, with the primary emphasis on those with disabilities, by providing the necessary support programs to enable individuals to grow with dignity and achieve their highest level of independence and self-fulfillment. The organization was named Not-for-Profit of the Year in 2009 by the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce.
