Oswego Kindergarten And UPK Registration Under Way

OSWEGO, NY – Kindergarten registration in the Oswego City School District is scheduled for next week.

This year, registration will be from Feb. 22-26.

As always, registration will take place in the school a child will be attending.

Registration packets were mailed earlier this month for every child that will turn the age of five on or before Dec. 1.

Students who attended Universal Pre-Kindergarten will not need to register or be re-screened.

If someone has a child who is eligible to attend kindergarten and has not received a packet please contact the elementary school offices.

Questions will be answered by calling Charles E. Riley at 341-2800, Frederick Leighton at 341-2700, Fitzhugh Park at 341-2400, Kingsford Park at 341-2500, and Minetto Elementary at 341-2600.

All students will be involved in Kindergarten screening and parents will be asked to sign up for screening at the time they register their child for kindergarten.

UPK Open House Wednesday

An open house will be held Feb. 24 at each of the elementary schools beginning between 6 and 7 p.m.

Children are welcome to accompany parents but are not required to attend.

This is an opportunity for parents to see the classroom and learn more about the UPK program.

Applications for the Oswego City School District Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program are now available.

The UPK teachers and staff strive to create a warm and nurturing environment for all our four year olds.

The goals of the program are to meet the individual needs of 4-year-old children in the areas of social, academic, language, emotional and physical development.

This prepares them to successfully enter kindergarten the following year.

The UPK teachers and district work closely together to deliver the best first educational experiences for your children. missing or outdated ad config
