The top-ranked Oswego State Laker men’s hockey team will host Potsdam on Friday and perennial nemesis Plattsburgh on Saturday for the annual White-Out weekend.

Both games are at 7 p.m. in the Campus Center Arena.

“We always look forward to Hockey Alumni Weekend,” said Lakers head coach Ed Gosek.  “It’s great motivation for our current team to have former players and teammates in the house and nice to catch up with them and their families over the course of the weekend. This year it will be even more special as our booster club has promised to turn over the proceeds from their nightly 50/50 raffle to the local chapter of the Red Cross.”

Blueline President Bob Lloyd added, “We recognize the good work that the Red Cross does both at home and around the world. When we learned the extent of the devastation in Haiti, we thought this might be a good way to share some support. We chose the Plattsburgh game because it is typically our best attended event and we are hoping our members and fans will help support this effort.”

Attendance and fan support is seldom an issue for the Lakers, who in addition to leading the SUNYAC, have been ranked Number 1 in NCAA Division III teams.

This weekend’s action promises to be intense as the three teams claim four of the top six goaltenders in the SUNYAC league and five of the top 10 scoring leaders.
