OSWEGO, NY – Thanks to efforts of several teams of the Oswego Minor Hockey Association the food pantry at Catholic Charities of Oswego County will be able to provide meals to more families in need this holiday season.

Organized by the Pee Wee Tier II team, members of the Oswego Minor Hockey Association’s Pee Wee, Squirt, and Bantam division accepted food donations throughout November during their practices at both the Cullinan and Crisafulli ice rinks.

The food was recently donated to the food pantry at Catholic Charities of Oswego County.

“We were very happy to receive this generous donation,” said Director of Emergency Services at Catholic Charities, Helen Hoefer. “We have had a tremendous amount of requests for meals this holiday season. We distributed more than 200 Thanksgiving meals and have already received even more requests for Christmas meals. The donation we received from the young people in the Oswego Minor Hockey Association, along with their coaches and families, will help us re-stock our pantry shelves and help us feed as many families as possible this Christmas.”
