Oswego Players To Present ‘Art’

OSWEGO – The Oswego Player’s will present the Tony award winning comedy ‘Art’ March 3 at the Frances Marion Brown Theater, in Oswego.

The play raises questions about art and friendship and concerns three long-time friends, Serge, Marc and Yvan.

Serge, indulging his penchant for modern art, buys a large, expensive, completely white painting.

Marc is horrified and their relationship suffers considerable strain as a result of their differing opinions about what constitutes “art.”

Yvan, caught in the middle of the conflict, tries to please and mollify both of them.

The play was originally written in French by Yazmina Reza and translated into English by Christopher Hampton.

The Oswego Players’ production of the play features a cast of three including Peter Mahan, Erik Mosher, of Oswego, and Joshua Ammons, of Syracuse.

Richard Mosher will direct this production assisted by Wayne Mosher Jr., as stage manager.

Production staff also includes Richard Mosher on light design and Stephanie Johnson on deck and props.

Tammy Wilkinson is the show’s producer.

‘Art’ is slated to be performed at the Francis Marion Brown Theater the on March 3, 9 and 10 at 8 p.m. and March 4 and 11 at 2 p.m.

Ticket prices are: student and seniors $9, adults $14.
