Oswego School Board Commences New Year Tonight

OSWEGO, NY – The Oswego City School District Board of Education will face a busy agenda on July 6.

At 4 p.m., the meeting will be called to order at the Education Center Boardroom.

Kathleen Allen, James Tschudy and new Oswego High School student representative Hayley Lukaczyk will take the oath of office to begin their terms on the board.

Following the oath of office ceremony the president and vice-president for the upcoming year will be elected.

The board will then turn to the reorganizational portion of the meeting and is expected to approve appointments, an independent auditor, and policies, authorize participating in the bid process with BOCES Cooperative, amend the tax rolls, and numerous other resolutions that are annually acted upon during the reorganization meeting.

The first regular meeting of the new year will be called to order upon completion of the reorganizational meeting.

It is expected that board will move into a lengthy executive session to discuss a variety of concerns including personnel and negotiations as well as potential litigation.

It is anticipated that the board will return to the public portion of the regular meeting at approximately 6 p.m.

In regular action the board is expected to approve field trips for the Oswego High School Marching Buccaneers and the Oswego High School Travel Club.

The board calendar will also be on the agenda.

Numerous personnel items are also on the agenda.
