OSWEGO, NY – Nearly 20 local students ranging in ages recently participated in the first-ever “Rising Star Musicians†performance at Bishop’s Commons Assistive Living Residence.

Sharing their musical talents, students performed solo acts playing a variety of instruments.
“It was a wonderful program for our residents and they are so lucky to have these gifted children share their Saturday afternoon with them,†noted Senior Living Coordinator, Julie Chetney.
While many performed on the piano, the show also featured musical pieces played by students on their violins, saxophones, clarinets, flutes, cellos, and much more.
The program was just one of the many inter-generational opportunities that take place at Bishop’s Commons between seniors and children.
Closing the event was resident Tom Plata who played the harmonica for the students showing them that they will never grow too old to enjoy or participate in the art of music.
