The Oswego High School Varsity Winter Guard participated in the Winter Guard International Regional Competition on February 7 at Corning-Painted Post High School in Corning.

For the second year in a row the guard scored well enough in the preliminary round to advance to the finals competition held Saturday night.
The guard traveled to Corning early Saturday and competed at 11:05 a.m.
The performance was solid and the guard earned a score of 61.230 which was good for 6th place in the Scholastic A division.
Other schools in the class included Arlington, Baldwinsville, Batavia , Hinsdale Central, Homer, Jordan-Elbridge, Laurens Central, Le Roy, Liverpool, Mohonasen, Phoenix, North Syracuse, Red Land (Pennsylvania) and Victor.
There were a total of 32 winter guards competing in five divisions.
Oswego competed in the finals competition at 7:16 and had a much stronger performance.
The group took 6th place. Red Land High School won the regional competition followed by Victor, Arlington, Phoenix, Mohonasen, Oswego, North Syracuse, and Liverpool.
The winter guard returned home on Sunday and will begin preparing for the show at Liverpool High School on February 14.
