OSWEGO – In recognition of June being Men’s Health Month, the Oswego Verizon store has partnered with Oswego County Opportunities (OCO) to raise awareness of the agency’s Cancer Services Program of the North Country and promote the many free cancer screenings that are offered through the program.
In addition to information on the Cancer Services Program and how to access its services, staff at the Oswego Verizon store, located at 137 State Route 104, will be distributing free Cancer Services promotional items, including reusable grocery bags, hand sanitizer and more.
“We are pleased to have the Oswego Verizon store as a partner in helping us spread the word of the importance of regular cancer screenings and to learn more about the screenings that are available free of charge from OCO’s Cancer Services Program.” said Program Coordinator Carolyn Handville.
Administered by OCO, the Cancer Services Program of the North Country provides free cancer screenings including clinical breast exams, mammograms, pap/pelvic exams and colorectal cancer screenings to qualifying community members who are uninsured and between 40 and 64 years of age.
